Tom is a director for process analytics at GSK. His team develops models to accelerate process development and increase the robustness of commercial manufacturing. Tom joined GSK from the FDA where he was the deputy director of the Office of Pharmaceutical Quality Research in the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) and the vice-chair of CDER’s Emerging Technology Team (ETT). Tom also served on the steering committees for both CDER’s AI Council and Quantitative Medicine Center of Excellence. Prior to joining the FDA in 2013, he worked at ExxonMobil where he held job functions in process analytics and process control. Tom earned a B.S. from the Cooper Union and a Ph.D. from Princeton University in chemical engineering.
