Anthony Grilli is the Owner and Laboratory Director of FOCUS Laboratories, a contract research organization and consulting firm with laboratories in Tampa Bay, FL and Lehigh Valley, PA supporting life science companies with microbiological expertise, qualified rapid test methods, and a unique collaborative approach.

Tony received an MS in Microbiology from Rutgers University and University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ. He has worked as an industrial microbiologist for 40 years, managing contract laboratory operations for SGS, Celsis Lab Group and FOCUS in NJ, IL, MO, PA, FL and Canada to financial and regulatory success. He is active in several organizations including ASTM, CETA, and PDA and is President Emeritus of SIM and PDA local chapters.

Through the recent acquisition of Microbiology Network (www.microbiologynetwork.com) FOCUS shares fundamental industrial microbiology concepts with a website audience via blog, video, seminar, and whitepaper formats. He has written for trade journals, and co-edited the CRC Handbook of Pharmaceutical Validation; contributing the “Validation in the Microbiology Laboratory” Chapter.
