John Kelly is a former federal healthcare fraud prosecutor, experienced trial attorney, and Managing Partner of the firm’s Washington D.C. office. John represents companies and executives in internal investigations, government and congressional investigations, criminal prosecutions, and civil litigation in matters related to healthcare fraud and abuse including the False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, and Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, as well as other regulatory and compliance issues. John has been selected to serve as outside compliance and investigations counsel to a number of health systems and life sciences companies, including some that are subject to reporting requirements under a CIA. John also has extensive experience in managed care conducting investigations and working with providers and plans to ensure compliant practices in the risk adjustment space. John had a distinguished career as a federal prosecutor with the Department of Justice (DOJ) where he held a number of leadership positions, including:
- Assistant Chief for Healthcare Fraud, Criminal Division, Fraud Section.
- Lead Prosecutor, Medicare Fraud Strike Force, Los Angeles, CA.
- Chief of Staff and Deputy Director of the Executive Office for U.S. Attorneys
