James Mason

PharmD, Compliance Officer, OPQO, U.S. FDA

James Mason received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2006 and then served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force. In 2009, he was Commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Public Health Service and began working for FDA as a Field Investigator conducting domestic and international drug inspections. In 2016, he became a Drug Specialist and then a Compliance Officer in the Office of Pharmaceutical Quality Operations in 2018. In 2020, he moved back to Investigations as a Supervisor in OPQO Division I. As an investigator, compliance officer and supervisor he has played a role in many GMP inspections with many resulting in regulatory actions by FDA. He is a Board-Certified Sterile Compounding Pharmacist (BCSCP), Certified in Public Health (CPH) and an ASQ certified Pharmaceutical GMP Professional (CPGP). In 2021, he received a Master’s degree in Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs from Temple University School of Pharmacy.
